I have tested this foundation for upto 13 hours, and can vouch for the staying power. The foundation has not caused any skin reaction or acne break-outs on the skin as yet.

That way,t he foundation stays on for almost the whole day. Doesn’t melt away from the skin even in humid climate (tested in both Delhi and Mumbai 😛 ) and doesn’t oxidise on me. On days when I want luminous finish, I generally mix 2 pumpfuls of foundation with one spray of MAC Fix+ Fluid and then apply it to the face.

It does not budge much once applied to the skin. The foundation stays on for a good 10+ hours on the skin. Those with normal/ dry skin would need to moisturise the skin well before application. Those with combination skin will love it too. I do apply a primer, mostly the MAC Matte creme on the face before applying the foundation. The foundation works well for my oily skin.

For my oily skin, I generally set the foundation with the MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation of the MAC Select Sheer Loose Powder. The foundation gives a semi-matte finish on it’s own. It applies smoothly, and is very easy to blend into the skin. My take on MAC Pro Longwear Foundation NC42: The foundation is a liquid foundation, slightly thick in consistency as compared to other liquid foundations, and is very pigmented. The packaging is simple and classy, and I love it.1

Packaging: The MAC Pro Longwear Foundation comes in the standard black and white MAC carton, a favorite of mine for being a classic! The product as such comes in a transparent glass bottle with a black colored, plastic cap-cum-pump. Specially treated micronized pigments help give a smoother, more flawless, natural finish with stay-true colour. Lightweight and creamy, applies and blends easily leaving the skin feeling soft and free to breathe all day while controlling oil. Finding foundations to match pale skin with yellow undertones was hit-and-miss, to say the least. As for my darker-skinned friends and family? Finding a suitable foundation shade back then was basically impossible-unless you went to MAC. Up until that point, the affordable high-street foundations that I used would always leave my skin looking too orange or too pink. At the time, it was the most expensive makeup product that I'd ever bought, but it turned out to be a serious game changer for me in terms of shade and formulation. I'd saved up my wages from my Saturday job to make the pilgrimage, and I have to say, I was immediately hooked. I have vivid memories of visiting its Carnaby Street store circa 2006 to get colour-matched for a foundation after reading about how all of the top makeup artists had it in their backstage kits. Ask any beauty editor or product obsessive where they bought their first proper foundation and, chances are, it will have been from MAC.
